This article is basically about my synths. I use a limited library of synths (all freeware, because I ain't ready for that kind of commitment with $199 synths. ALSO, TAKING ONE DOLLAR OFF OF THE PRICE DOESN'T MAKE IT LOOK CHEAPER! RAWR SNARL GRRR RAWR RAWR GRRR SNARL RAWR!)
I use: My favorite, Tyrell Nexus 6 https://www.u-he.com/cms/tyrelln6 Tal software, a freeware company that makes Tal Ele7ro II (specifically), my go to bass synth http://tal-software.com/ Dexed, a strange, but charming synth based off the synths of old http://www.kvraudio.com/product/dexed-by-digital-suburban Rough Rider, a VERY bitey and warm sounding compression filter (great on drums) https://www.audiodamage.com/downloads/product.php?pid=ADF002 PROTOVERB REVERB, random seed based reverb https://www.u-he.com/cms/protoverb Zebralette, the free, little brother of Zebra https://www.u-he.com/cms/zebra I think I'll keep the rest a mystery. ;) Sorry for the lack of updates, I've had school.
Obviously. Anyway, updates: I've been messing with both my new Launchpad and Mixtrack Pro III for a while now, I've finished one test track on the launchpad. It's meh. The Mixtrack uses Serato, but I don't have the full version yet. Same with Ableton. I'm workin' on it, k? BIG NEWS and a complaint.
I got... A novation launchpad (RBG, Mk II, whatever you wanna call that version) And Ableton Live Lite, but that's a silly thing. And the complaint: Launchpads They have a steep learning curve, especially other people's files. I wanna just be able to sit down, take 5 minutes, and play a file perfectly. So I think there should be sheet music for the Launchpad. You know, something along the lines of 8 lines (a line per row of pads), and you put the number of the pad (1-8 left to right on the launchpad) on the line. Like this: -------------------- -------6------------ -------------------- -------------------- -----------4-------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- This would be to press pad 6 on row 2, and then pad 4 on row 5. Like guitar tabs, but much taller. |
